Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia

Sitara is a young girl whose life is shaped by scholarship and the belief that knowledge has practical power. Taken in by Fatima’s household, she finds Muhammad helps deepen her love of learning. That world is shattered by the Mongol conquest, and forced into captivity under a radically different political order, Sitara learns to use her education and intelligence as tools for survival.

The story moves from 13th-century Persia into the Mongol imperial sphere. Sitara eventually encounters Töregene, a wife of Ögedei with her own complicated hostility toward the empire. Their interests begin to align, setting up a historical court drama about conquest, knowledge, gender, political survival and revenge.

The series uses real Mongol-period names and figures alongside dramatized relationships and characters. It is historical fiction inspired by 13th-century people and events, not a documentary reconstruction.
